Guys, we know how much our girlfriends love chocolate. If they are upset with us we can win back their hearts by giving them a chocolaty treat. Such is the power of chocolate!
We are very much aware of girls’ love for chocolates, but do we know that chocolates have health benefits too. Yes! Chocolates have their own health benefits. Chocolates are beneficial not only for women but for men too.
The people who are sweating it out at the gym to lose their extra pounds and their pot belly have promised themselves that they will never touch chocolate. Though it does help them to stop adding on those extra pounds, they are also deprived of the many health benefits of chocolate and the reason behind this is that they are not aware of the benefits behind eating chocolates.
When we say chocolates, we obviously do not mean those sweetened artificially; only those chocolates that are in their pure form are beneficial, containing cocoa and vegetable oils.
Chocolates keep blood pressure under control
Chocolate is a yummier, better medicine for people suffering from high blood pressure. If you eat small amounts of chocolate regularly, you will be able to lower your blood pressure and keep it under control. Chocolates contain flavonoids, a type of compounds that broadens your blood vessel and stops your blood from thickening.
Chocolates boost physical stamina
The lesser known benefit of chocolate is that it helps to boost physical stamina, though not very significantly. Some high grade chocolates contain a compound known as epicatechin that increases your vitality apart from enhancing the health of your heart. This makes you physically active so that you can play that extra game of golf.
Chocolates help to boost the serotonin level of your body. Serotonin is a natural stimulant that helps to lower your stress levels and make you feel happier by lifting your mood. And we know that when we are in good mood, our brain works better and more accurately. It is not a myth that students consuming chocolates along with a little caffeine prior to their exams tend to have a sharper mind and they come out with flying colors.
Chocolates for cavity-free teeth
We remember being scolded by our moms for eating chocolate. They feared that we might end up losing all our teeth if we didn’t stop indulging in chocolate. Mothers should know that chocolates, obviously the pure ones, are actually beneficial for their sons. Chocolates help to fight cavities by enveloping the teeth and acting as a shield against cavity causing bacteria. Chocolates contain theobromine, a unique compound that is also a key ingredient in toothpastes nowadays.
Chocolates for blemish-free skin
We used to believe chocolates are responsible for pimples popping up on our faces but we now know that chocolates are actually beneficial for our skin. As chocolates better circulate through our blood, it makes it possible for blood to reach our face muscles and keep infection-causing bacteria at bay. It also makes the skin look supple and prevents the formation of wrinkles.
See! You learn something new every day. Chocolates aren’t just an aphrodisiac for women. Next time you see you buddies. Let them know that real men eat chocolate!
